Gary Rackliffe is VP Smart Grids North America and GM for ABB’s Smart Grid Center of Excellence.   

 As an industry leader on smart grid technologies and grid modernization, Gary is past chair of NEMA’s Smart Grid Council and a member of NEMA’s Distribution Automation Section, the DistribuTECH Advisory Committee, the Department of Commerce Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, and the IEC Smart Energy Systems Committee.  He serves on the Boards of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster and the GridWise Alliance.

 Gary holds BS and ME degrees in Power Engineering from RPI and a MBA from CMU.
